Are your chickens free-range?
Yes, our chickens are free-range. We try to have a variety of chicken breeds, which results in a variety of colored egg shells. Our chickens eat commercial chicken feed when the farm isn’t growing produce. They love kale, raspberries, melons and pumpkins.
We are not NPIP certified. Find out more about our eggs here!

Are there dogs on the farm? Can I bring my dog?
We have our own dog, Nan, who is our livestock guardian dog aka chicken tend-er. She is part Labrador and part Great Pyrenees. She is very friendly and loves greeting people. In fact, she expects to be greeted on market days.
You can bring your dog, but please be sure he or she is leashed.

Is your produce organic?
Our produce is not certified organic, but we do emphasize many of the same methods, including the use of beneficial insects and trap plantings as natural pesticide and repellent options. We also use organic fertilizers that are ORMI certified.

What are your growing seasons?
Our growing seasons are typical of Kansas, with the first harvest (asparagus) in April and lasting through the first hard frost.
