Have Questions for Us? Find Answers on Bramble’s Edge Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is a CSA farm?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms offer you the ability to buy shares of our harvest in advance and then get all-natural products and farm-fresh produce delivered straight from our farm to your table every week during peak seasons. Sign up for CSA Deliveries today!
Where are you located?
We are located at 18176 SW Meadowlark Road, Rose Hill, Kansas 67133 (just a short drive south of Wichita). Please view our map at the bottom of the page for directions!
Are your chickens free-range?
Yes, our chickens are free-range. We try to have a variety of chicken breeds, which results in a variety of colored egg shells. Our chickens eat commercial chicken feed when the farm isn’t growing produce. They love kale, raspberries, melons and pumpkins.
We are not NPIP certified. Find out more about our eggs here!
Are there dogs on the farm? Can I bring my dog?
We have our own dog, Nan, who is our livestock guardian dog aka chicken tend-er. She is part Labrador and part Great Pyrenees. She is very friendly and loves greeting people. In fact, she expects to be greeted on market days.
Nan isn’t fond of other dogs. You can bring your dog, but please be sure he or she is leashed.
What is agri-tourism? Is Bramble's Edge part of it?
Agri-tourism is the act of visiting a working farm or any agricultural operation to enjoy the setting, learn, or take part in a special activity. Bramble’s Edge Farm is a registered agri-tourism site in Kansas.
What is a you-pick option?
We give customers a pair of sheers and they can collect their own herbs, mint, flowers, berries, pumpkins. Pricing varies. Find out more!
Can I pick my own produce?
Absolutely. Schedule a time to come see us and pick your own produce!
Is your produce organic?
Our produce is not certified organic, but we do emphasize many of the same methods, including the use of beneficial insects and trap plantings as natural pesticide and repellent options. We also use organic fertilizers that are ORMI certified.
What are your growing seasons?
Our growing seasons are typical of Kansas, with the first harvest (asparagus) in April and lasting through the first hard frost.
We have three seasons: cool spring, hot summer, and cool autumn. What we plant in the spring is similar to what we plant in the fall: cabbage, lettuces, broccoli, kale, collards, etc.
